Based on last year’s accident in Storkow it is our experience that market focus on safety has increased.

In order to ensure that the service lifts are working in an even safer manner Avanti Wind Systems now introduces and recommends the Stomp-test for all wire-based service lifts equipped with ASL/M508 and OSL/M500.

By performing the Stomp-test the engagement of the ASL and OSL will be verified. The test shall activate the ASL and OSL to engage, thus demonstrating the ASL’s and OSL’s proper function to arrest and hold the load of the service lift.

Also we would like to inform you that Avanti Wind Systems is working on updating our service concept which will be launched shortly.  This service concept will further improve “Safe Work in Wind Turbines” when using Avanti service lifts.
